胡扬,2010年毕业于浙江大学,英国剑桥大学社会学博士,盖茨奖学金(Gates Cambridge Scholarship)获得者。现任英国兰卡斯特大学社会学教授。其专著《Chinese-British Intermarriage: Disentangling Gender and Ethnicity》获得英国社会学会Philip Abrams 2017年度图书提名奖。在European Sociological Review, Journal of Marriage and Family, Environment and Planning A, Population, Space and Place, Demographic Research和Journal of Sex Research等国际期刊发表论文近20篇。《时代》(Time Magazine)、《新闻周刊》(Newsweek)、《德国国家电台》(Deutschlandradio)、《环球时报》等媒体都曾报道过他的研究。胡扬博士还获得过英国Nuffield Foundation, British Academy, Leverhulme Trust, The Sociological Review Foundation等基金资助。

Yang Hu
Professor of Global Sociology
Lancaster University

Yang Hu is Professor of Global Sociology at the Department of Sociology at Lancaster University, UK. He is also an expert fellow at the Lancaster University China Centre.
Yang’s research focuses on changing work-family, intimate and gender relations, as well as their intersection with population mobility, in a global context. His research contributes to advancing work-family, gender and social equality, as well as our understanding of how macro socio-economic, political and institutional developments and cultural changes (re)configure everyday family and intimate lives. His research has been funded by the UKRI/ESRC, SSHRC, British Academy, HEFCE and Nuffield Foundation.
Yang also (co-)convenes the Lancaster Asia Asia Research Group (LAARG). Yang serves as an editorial board member of Sociology (2020–), Journal of Marriage and Family (2020–), and formerly Sociology Compass (2020–2022).
Yang was an early career fellow at the Work and Family Researchers Network, USA (2018–2019). He obtained his MPhil and PhD in Sociology as a Gates Scholar from the University of Cambridge (Queens’ College, October 2015), and his B.A. from Zhejiang University, China (2010).
