Lizhong Chen, Ph.D. (陈理中)

Lizhong Chen is currently an assistant professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University. His research interests are in the broad area of architecture, application and emerging technology of computing systems, including many-core CPUs and GPUs, data centers, HPCs, deep learning accelerators, and Internet of Things (IoT). Dr. Chen served on the technical program committee of ICCD, IISWC, ISPASS, DAC, NAS, ICS, HiPC, ISCA (ERC), MICRO (ERC), HPCA (ERC), and is a reviewer for a number of top IEEE/ACM journals such as TC, TPDS, CAL, TCAD, TETC, TDSC, TCSI, TACO, TODAES, and TECS. Prior to join Oregon State University, he was a postdoc at the University of Southern California (USC), working with Timothy Pinkston and Massoud Pedram. Dr. Chen is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from USC in 2014 and 2011, respectively. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2009 and was part of the SoC team in the Institute of VLSI Design. He is the recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the Chu Kochen Award (the highest honor from Zhejiang University), the USC Ph.D. Achievement Award nomination, and the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Studying Abroad.
