陆翔兴,1983年毕业于杭州大学地理系,美国堪萨斯州立大学地理科学系教授,堪萨斯州立大学孔子学院外方院长。主要研究方向有:人口地理,地理信息科学,区域发展,中国和东亚,人与环境变化的关系等。

Max Lu
Professor, Department of Geography
Kansas State University

Max Lu was born in China and came to the United States in 1990. After earning his doctorate in geography from Indiana University in 1996, he joined Kansas State University. He is a professor of geography and his research interests lie in the fields of population geography and regional development. Much of his scholarly work has concerned household migration decision-making and residential consequences of migration. He has also analyzed changes in China’s spatial development patterns as the country moves toward industrialization and modernization. Lu’s research has appeared in such peer-reviewed journals as Environment and Planning A, Growth and Change, Population and Environment, Geografiska Annaler B, Global Environmental Change, International Journal of Population Geography, Geographical Review, and Journal of Geography. His is a co-editor of the book “Changing China: A Geographic Appraisal,” published by Westview Press in 2004. Lu teaches several courses at K-State, including world regional geography, geography of China/East Asia, population geography and spatial data analysis.
