蔡天文

蔡天文，1967年出生于浙江省瑞安市莘塍镇。著名家庭教育专家蔡笑晚的长子。1986年毕业于杭州大学（现浙江大学）数学系，1986年在上海交通大学获应用数学硕士学位，1990年9月获全额奖学金赴美国留学。2000年，获得美国国家科学研究基金，不久就被聘为美国宾州大学的终身教授兼博士生导师，成为宾州大学历史上最年轻的终身教授之一。2006年当选国际数理统计学会会士（Fellow, Institute of Mathematical Statistics）。2008年度世界统计学“考普斯”奖(COPSS: The Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies) 获得者。任专业领域中权威刊物《The Annals of statistics》的主编，及《Journal of American Statistical Association》、《Statistia sinica》、《Statistics Surveys》的副主编。
目前，蔡天文兼任4个专业领域的最权威刊物《美国统计年刊》、《美国统计调查杂志》、《美国统计学会会刊》和《泛华统计学会会刊》的主编，并承担美国国家基金会论文审查工作。多次受邀到美国哈佛大学、英国剑桥大学和我国北京大学等名牌大学作学术报告。 　　2008年获世界统计学最高奖——考普斯总统奖。（考普斯“总统奖”设于1976年，是由美国统计学会、加拿大统计学会等5个统计学会会长组成的委员会提名颁奖。由于诺贝尔奖项中没有统计学，所以此奖在国际上被视为统计学“诺贝尔”奖。）此前，我国只有3人获此殊荣。

Tony Cai
Daniel H. Silberberg Professor in Applied Mathematics and Statistics

Cai was born in Rui'an, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China. In 1986, he graduated from the Department of Mathematics, Hangzhou University (previous and current Department of Mathematics, Zhejiang University), at 18 years old. In 1989, he then received an M.Sc. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and in 1996, earned a PhD from Cornell University.
